Will European Transport Hub Stay Cool Under Pressure?

Brussels International Airport will receive a visit from cold chain supply experts as part of IQPC's 8th Cool Chain Europe Conference

LONDON, UK, November 23, 2008 /Pharmaceutical PR News/ -- Brussels International Airport will open its doors to a group of leading cold chain experts this January. Selected delegates to the 8th Cool Chain Europe conference will be allowed behind the scenes of one of Europe's busiest airports to see first hand the real-life application of cool chain supply solutions.

Pharmaceutical manufacturing and supply is one of the most heavily regulated of all industry verticals and as such the transport hub will be subject to close scrutiny. Experts will be looking to address the reasons why shipments fail to maintain a consistent and compliant temperature on their journey from manufacturer to customer and look at possible solutions.

Brussels Airport has a strong reputation within air cargo and should stand up well to inspection; two of airlines that won prizes at its awards in October were Cathay Pacific Cargo and Singapore Airlines Cargo who were rewarded for efficiency and increasing cargo volumes respectively.

Among the Cool Chain Europe delegation are speakers Rafik H. Bishara, Chairperson of the PCCIG and PDA and Michel Zaffran, Head of the World Health Organisation's 'Optimise' Project. The delegation will be looking to address a variety of issues at the heart of cold chain supply, from implementing new strategies, to solving specialist issues, new approaches to packaging, and regulations compliance. All speeches and case studies will be centre around practical solutions to the core problems of modern cold chain management.
