Symbion Systems Presents Paper at the ISA Analysis Division Symposium

Symbion Systems will be presenting a paper at the International Society for Automation (ISA) Analysis Division Symposium in New Orleans on April 27, 2010, under the title: A Software Approach to Accelerating Process Analyzer Deployment.

TUSTIN, CA, April 25, 2010 /Pharmaceutical PR News/ -- Symbion Systems, Inc., a leader in providing process analytical software for analytical instrument control, analysis, and connectivity, will be presenting a paper at the International Society for Automation (ISA) Analysis Division Symposium in New Orleans on April 27, 2010, under the title: A Software Approach to Accelerating Process Analyzer Deployment.

The authors are Dr. Mike Doyle, CEO of Symbion and Dr. Mike Power, Director of Software Development. The paper describes a software approach designed to accelerate process analytical development and deployment by standardizing the interactions with diverse instruments, sampling systems, chemometric packages, and enterprise data systems and by integrating all required functionality at the analyzer level. In addition to the required control and data analysis functions, the system provides local displays in various formats, including statistical information and real-time trend plots, as well as database storage, alarms, and remote communications. It can be implemented on a standard PC or integrated into a dedicated process analytical "appliance" for locked-down deployment.

The result of analytical integration at the analyzer (or process) level is to create an "Autonomous Analyzer System" which can be developed, validated, and deployed independently of all other systems. When properly locked-down, it becomes, in effect, a series of dedicated smart sensors. Its primary function is to output predictions of process variables measured at predetermined locations within a chemical process. In addition, raw data can be stored locally and transferred to the plant network as required.

The approach discussed in the ISA paper represents the latest advances in the ongoing development of the Symbion family of standardized analytical instrument software programs for both laboratory and on-line process analytical technology (PAT) applications.

The text of the paper by Doyle and Power will be included in the proceedings of the ISA Analysis Division Symposium. A copy can also be obtained by contacting Symbion Systems at http://www.gosymbion.com/ or by calling +1 (949) 757-9300.
