Established in 2005, Queensland Clinical Trials Network Inc. is an Australian peak industry body for preclinical and clinical trials and related service providers. The organization serves as the primary point of contact for domestic and international organizations seeking to undertake preclinical and clinical research in Australia. QCTN is a member-based, industry-focused group which represents national and international businesses, including life sciences service providers and related entities serving the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, complementary medicines and medical devices industries.
Mario is recognized nationally as a leader in the field of clinical trials for newly developed drugs and therapies. His activities have been a significant contributor to the development of the biotechnology industry in Queensland and Australia. Prior to QCTN, Mr. Pennisi served as National Business Development Manager for Mayne Group and a scientist, rising to Client Services Manager with Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology.
During his educational career, Mario earned a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Medical Laboratory Science from the Queensland Institute of Technology. He was the recipient of an Outstanding Alumnus Award from the Queensland University of Technology in 2009. Mr. Pennisi is active on numerous biotechnology industry bodies including AusBiotech, the peak industry body in Australia, and is its representative on the Pharmaceuticals Industry Development Taskforce.
