Sara Bingel, Pharm.D., Honored for Accomplishments in Pharmaceutical Services
Sara Bingel is Credited with Establishing Mount Sinai Hospital's ER Consulting Service
NEW YORK, NY, February 2, 2010 /Pharmaceutical PR News/ --Dr. Sara Bingel, Emergency Department Pharmacist for Mount Sinai Hospital, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of pharmaceutical services.
With five years of experience in healthcare, Dr. Sara Bingel is known as an expert in emergency room consulting on medication. In 2007, she assumed her current position at Mount Sinai Hospital, where she works in the inpatient pharmacy department. Her responsibilities include consulting on patients' medication needs in the ER, and working with doctors and nurses to cover gaps in medicines that a patient may experience upon arrival at the ER. Credited with starting the hospital's emergency room consulting service, Dr. Bingel attributes her success to her strong desire to improve people's quality of life and to the inspiration that she received from her father, who also worked in healthcare.
Dr. Bingel underwent her fellowship in pharmacy epidemiology at the New York State Office of Mental Health. She completed her postdoctoral residency in psychology in 2005 and received her Doctor of Pharmacy in 2004 from SUNY Buffalo. Her professional affiliations include the College of Psychiatric and Neurologic Pharmacists, the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists, and MENSA International. She was honored by Mount Sinai Hospital in 2009 with a Red Carpet Award for Outstanding Professionals in Customer Care, and in 2008 and 2009 with a Star Reporter, for most patient care pharmacy interventions. In five years, Dr. Bingel hopes to continue emergency room consulting services and explore upper management and directorship positions.
