Patricia J. Macgregor Recognized for Dedication to Health Care Innovation

Patricia Macgregor, M.H.Sc., CHE, RPH, MRPharmS, is a strong advocate for medication safety

    SCARBOROUGH, ON, CANADA, September 9, 2011 /Pharmaceutical PR News/ -- Patricia J. Macgregor, M.H.Sc., CHE, RPH, MRPharmS, Director of Pharmacy at The Scarborough Hospital, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in pharmaceutical services.

Ms. Macgregor is a nationally recognized leader in health care innovation in medication systems for patient safety. She has also experienced success in program development, operational management, and coaching and developing staff. With nearly three decades of experience, she serves as the director of pharmacy for The Scarborough Hospital. Her position entails managing the pharmacy services for two hospitals, overseeing medication safety, and benchmarking the pharmacy on a provincial and national level. Ms. Macgregor also serves on committees, develops bar coding and standardization for improved safety on a global level, and provides clinical documentation for physicians, nurses and allied professionals.

In 2010, Ms. Macgregor graduated from the University of Toronto with a Master of Health Sciences Administration. She previously earned an honors Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from the University of Strathclyde in 1983. In addition, she is designated by the Canadian College of Health Leaders as a certified health executive and is a fellow of The Executive Management Program of The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. Ms. Macgregor, who is licensed in both Canada and the United Kingdom, remains current in her industry through a number of professional affiliations, including the Ontario College of Pharmacists, Canadian Society of Hospital Pharmacists, American Society of Health-System Pharmacists and Royal Pharmaceutical Society. She is also a member of HealthPro's Pharmacy Advisory Council, an editorial board member of the Hospital Pharmacy of Canada-Survey and Report, and president of CCAPP, the Canadian Council for Accredited Pharmacy Programs. Ms. Macgregor's focus has driven her to succeed throughout her career. In the future, she aspires to expand beyond the pharmacy level.
